What Sailing Qualifications are required?
Bareboat charter regulation in Greece requires at least two persons on board with appropriate sailing licenses/certificates or at least one Skipper licence and a competent/experienced crew member. In the latter case the co-skipper may be required to complete a declaration that he/she is competent to undertake responsibility of the yacht.
What Travel Insurance is required?
It is important that all members of your party are covered by comprehensive travel insurance for the full period of your holiday, and that it properly covers your participation in whatever activities you may undertake whilst on holiday. Clients are strongly advised to obtain cancellation/charter insurance.
How does the Check-in procedure work
We keep this as brief as possible but clearly a comprehensive check-in is always required. Check-in and briefing about the yacht's equipment can only be performed correctly during daylight hours, in case you arrive after sunset, we will take care of the inventory and check-in the following morning.
What are the Check-in and Check-out timings
We will always endeavour to get you organised for departure as early as possible on your arrival day although the contract does state latest 19:00hrs please note that this is a limit not a target. Typically the finish time is 09:00hrs on your end date. However you may be required to return to base the afternoon before your end date as this is sometimes necessary due to weather, port, or other unforseen conditions whereby early return is necessary. We will always do our best, depending on the circumstances, to accommodate your requirements.
Refundable Security Deposit
You are required to leave a security deposit prior to embarkation in case of any damage to the yacht or loss of equipment. This security deposit is returned to you once the yacht has been returned at the pre-agreed time and place and checked to be in the same condition that it was handed over to you. Any minor damages may be deducted from this deposit. All our yachts are properly insured for charter business and the clients liability is limited to the amount of security deposit unless the cause of damage is excluded for example; gross negligance.
Provisions
In all our bases, provisioning is not a problem as there are supermarkets close to the marina of departure and we will assist with collection and delivery.
What to Bring with you
Due to our complete inventory and specifications, the only things you have to bring with you are clothes and personal items. Do not forget cotton trousers, lots of t-shirts, swimming apparel, deck shoes, shorts, casual evening wear, large beach towels, your music (MP3/CD), a sun-hat and sunscreen are recommended. At the beginning and at the end of the season light waterproof weather gear is recommended as it may be necessary. Since storage space in the yachts is rather limited, it is better to carry your clothes in soft-sided bags and not in suitcases.
